6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas is set to make a rehab start on Sunday at Double-A Binghamton as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Vargas has struggled this season to a 1-2 mark with a 5.92 ERA and 5.73 FIP in 24 1/3 innings. Vargas has not been good for the Mets since 2018 after modestly productive 2014 and '17 seasons with the Royals. His upside is little more than a streamer, but he is not even that until he shows something this season.--Nathaniel Green
