5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas and manager Mickey Callaway will be fined for their roles in an altercation with a member of the media over the weekend. While the fines are a team-issued $10,000 each, a source confirmed, there will be no suspensions, according to general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, who called the situation "disappointing" and "regrettable." Vargas will apparently make his next scheduled start Wednesday in Philadelphia unless Major League Baseball decides to weigh in on the matter.--Daniel Dobish
