Javier Baez Benched On Monday
3 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez was benched on Monday by manager David Ross after the bottom of the fourth inning. Baez thought there was two outs when Anthony Rizzo hit a deep fly ball, but there was only one gone in the inning and Baez would be doubled off at first base to end the frame. Baez was 0-for-2 on the night and was replaced by infielder Sergio Alcantara. The upcoming free agent is hitting .226 with 16 home runs, 44 RBI and nine stolen bases.
