4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez left Saturday's contest versus the Pittsburgh Pirates in the top of the eighth inning with back stiffness. Manager David Ross doesn't believe that the injury is serious and Baez should be considered day-to-day for now. Baez finished the contest 1-for-3. If Baez were to miss time, infielders Eric Sogard and Ildemaro Vargas would be the most likely replacements in the lineup for Baez.
