6 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez will rest on Monday. Baez left Sunday’s game early with a heel contusion. Baez rarely takes a day off and the Cubs are wise to give him a breather as he is a little banged up. Baez remains day-to-day. Addison Russell will take over for Baez at shortstop and bat eighth. Russell has struggled since being reinstated from a suspension and could be avoided versus Phillies starter Jake Arrieta on Monday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
