Javier Baez Remains Sidelined With Thumb Injury
3 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (thumb) will miss his third consecutive game on Friday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Baez was scratched from Wednesday's lineup with a right thumb sprain and sat out on Thursday. It's unfortunate for managers with Baez hitting three home runs in his last two games. The upcoming free agent is hitting .234 with 21 home runs, 56 RBI and 10 stolen bases for the season. Baez will be replaced in the lineup by infielder Sergio Alcantara this afternoon. Alcantara will bat eighth and is a cheap dart throw in DFS versus Wade LeBlanc. Baez remains day-to-day.
