4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (hamstring) has returned to the Cubs lineup on Thursday versus the Atlanta Braves and will bat fifth. Baez has been sidelined since Monday with a sore hamstring. The shortstop has put up good power numbers this season and has six home runs with 17 RBI to go along with a .234 batting average. He has also chipped in with five stolen bases. The upcoming free agent and possible trade candidate will square off against Bryse Wilson on Thursday and managers should have Baez back in their daily lineup. Second baseman Nico Hoerner was filling in at shortstop for Baez and will slide back to second base on Thursday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
