3 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (thumb) will return to the lineup on Tuesday versus the New York Mets. Baez left Saturday's contest early after aggravating his thumb. Baez sat out Sunday but did pinch hit on Monday. Baez will bat third in his return versus right-hander Taijuan Walker. Baez has been having a very good year with a .235 batting average to go along with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and nine stolen bases.
