Javonte Williams Rushes For 46 Yards In Loss To Chiefs
3 years agoDenver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams saw 12 carries (the same as Melvin Gordon) but wasn't as productive as his teammate with 46 rushing yards (3.8 yards per carry) in the 28-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday. Williams caught both of his targets in the passing game for an additional 18 yards. The second-round pick showed plenty of upside with his tackle-breaking abilities in his first season in the NFL. In total, Williams had 203 carries for 903 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and four touchdowns, adding 43 catches on 53 targets for 316 yards and three more TDs. The 21-year-old had his fantasy value capped as a low-end RB2 for most of the season with Gordon splitting the backfield work, but if Gordon leaves in free agency, Williams will be a legitimate first-round target as an RB1 going into the 2022 season.
