Javonte Williams To See More Pass-Catching Work?
2 years agoDenver Broncos second-year running back Javonte Williams suggested during organized team activities that the team's RBs will be adjusting to a bigger role in the passing game with head coach Nathaniel Hackett running the offense. "We're pretty much wide receivers and running backs this year," Williams said. "We have to learn all the different (route) concepts." With Hackett serving as the Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator the last three seasons, they led the NFL with a 111.2 team passer rating when targeting RBs, with 19 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Even though Williams will be splitting touches with Melvin Gordon again in 2022, he should be the 1A in his second season and will be an attractive high-end RB2, especially if he sees more pass-game work.
