6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi (knee) tore his ACL in the Week 5 loss to the Vikings and has been put on Injured Reserve, ending his 2018 season, according to a source. It's a huge blow to an Eagles offense that continues to be decimated by injuries as they try to defend their Super Bowl title. Darren Sproles hasn't played since the season opener and Corey Clement has been out each of the last two weeks, so Wendell Smallwood might be the leading tailback on a short week against the Giants this Thursday. For those that own Ajayi, you can safely drop him and look for alternatives on the waiver wire. Smallwood should probably be your first target, with Clement right behind him. Expect the Eagles to lean more heavily on quarterback Carson Wentz and the passing game moving forward.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
