Jay Bruce Collects Three Hits, Homers
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Jay Bruce continued his torrid June by going 3-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and two RBI in his team's loss to Washington Thursday. Bruce now has 20 home runs on the season with an .892 OPS and is making hard contact at a 40.1 percent rate. The only negative in his game for fantasy is a .242 batting average which should come up as his unlucky .226 BABIP normalizes. Since being acquired by the Phillies on June 4, Bruce is batting .349 with an absurd .814 slugging percentage and has overtaken the number three spot in a stacked Phillies lineup. Fantasy owners who gave up on the Bruce are running out of reasons not to pick him back up as his ownership should be much higher than it is. He'll face some replacement level Marlins pitchers at home in what could be a big weekend for the veteran slugger.
