7 years agoWith some mild injuries creeping up for some members of the New York Mets, there’s a silver lining in that at least one of them is getting better. Outfielder Jay Bruce (foot) will make his spring training debut on Tuesday, serving as the designated hitter, when the Mets take on the Astros. Bruce has been out a few days due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot, but the injury was never believed to be one that would keep him on the sidelines all that long. Assuming he’s healthy, Bruce makes for nice value as a current mid-13th-round pick (in 12-team leagues) as the 43rd outfielder off the board in drafts.--John Smith
