3 years agoNew Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach Wes Welker compared wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to Chiefs All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill. "I think it's acceleration," Welker said. "Especially like when he gets a ball in my hand. We've got the ball in his hands, it's kind of Tyreek Hill-ish, how he's just able to get that ball and really burst out of it." Waddle set a new NFL record in his rookie season with 104 catches, and he added 1,015 yards and six touchdowns on 140 targets in 16 games. Welker coached Deebo Samuel with the San Francisco 49ers, and Waddle could have a similar role in Miami's new offense under head coach Mike McDaniel.
