Jean Segura Driving In Runs From Second Spot In Lineup
7 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura had an excellent first month of the season, hitting .298 with two home runs, five stolen bases, nine doubles and 21 runs batted in. The 21 RBI are good for second on the team behind outfielder Mitch Haniger, and Segura is hitting an astounding .500 (15-for-30) with runners in scoring position. The top half of the Mariners lineup is a huge reason why the team is sporting a 16-11 record heading into May, and Segura is right in the thick of it. Even the five stolen bases are a pleasant surprise for a player that swiped only 22 bags in 2017. As long as Segura stays healthy, he is a consistent fantasy asset moving forward.
