Jean Segura Fractures Right Index Finger Tuesday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi said the X-rays revealed that second baseman Jean Segura (finger) fractured his right index finger in Tuesday's 7-4 extra-innings loss to the Giants. Segura was squaring up to bunt and was struck in the right hand. Nothing has been mentioned about Segura needing to spend time on the injured list, but fantasy managers may want to prepare to not have him for some games given the X-ray results. The 32-year-old was off to a good start to the season, slashing .275/.324/.407 with six home runs, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases. Bryson Stott may see more time in Segura's absence, but he has slashed just .123/.179/.151 this season.
