3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Jean Segura (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday afternoon, according to Matt Breen of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Segura exited Tuesday night's game early with an apparent groin injury in the ninth inning that seemed to have occurred while he was running out an infield single. Nick Maton has been recalled and is expected to be in the mix for playing time with Luke Williams and Ronald Torreyes while Segura is out. There is currently no timetable for his return, so managers should prepare for a potentially lengthy stint on the IL for Segura.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
