Jean Segura Out Again Friday
7 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura (forearm) will again be held out of the lineup Friday against the Red Sox. Segura is currently on antibiotics because of a forearm infection he is dealing with. The team appears to be taking a cautious approach and won't rush Segura back until this ailment clears up. Segura is having an All-Star season, slashing .334/.359/.480 with two triples, six home runs, 14 stolen bases, 21 doubles, 44 runs batted in and 52 runs scored. He currently is slashing .319/.372/.458 in the month of June and the team will have the next few days to decide whether a trip to the disabled list is in Segura's imminent future. Expect utility man Andrew Romine to play shortstop in Segura's place.
