6 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura has been activated from the paternity list and is expected to be in the lineup Monday night against the Astros. Segura had been absolutely on fire recently, hitting .571 (8-for-14) over his last three games played and .452 over his last 31 at-bats. Segura has shaken off a sluggish month of July to really begin to turn it on over the past two weeks and now is slashing .314/.343/.437 with two triples, nine home runs, 27 doubles and 56 runs batted in this season. He also is hitting .313 with runners in scoring position and will need to deliver this week beginning with a tough series against the division-leading Astros.
