Jean Segura Smacks Leadoff Homer Versus Yankees
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Jean Segura went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. Segura jumped on a first-pitch fastball from Asher Wojciechowski to give the visitors a quick lead. He wouldn't record another hit in the game, but Segura has been solid in the leadoff role for Philly. The veteran infielder is slashing .312/.367/.446 with five homers, 36 runs scored, and six steals. He seldom strikes out as evidenced by his 14.6 percent strikeout rate and his 40 percent hard-hit rate is a career-high, so fantasy managers can expect Segura to continue to produce. He should be locked into starting lineups this weekend for a four-game set with the Braves.
