Jean Segura To Begin Rehab Assignment Tuesday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Jean Segura (finger) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday night, according to interim manager Rob Thomson. Segura underwent surgery to fix a fractured right index finger in early June, and it sounds as if he's nearing a return to the majors. He'll be eligible to return from the injured list on Aug. 2, and as long as he doesn't have a setback in the minors, he could return when eligible. Before breaking his finger, the 32-year-old veteran Dominican was slashing .275/.324/.407 with six home runs, 19 RBI, 22 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 179 plate appearances over 44 games, making him valuable in all fantasy formats.
