Jed Lowrie Cranks Walk-Off Homer Versus Indians
3 years agoOakland Athletics second baseman Jed Lowrie was the hero on Friday night, blasting a two-run homer off of Indians' closer Emmanuel Clase to win the game for the home team. The veteran infielder also had an RBI single for a three-RBI night to begin the second half. Lowrie was a forgotten man with the Mets the past two seasons, but he's enjoyed a career resurgence in Oakland, now on his third stint with the team. The 37-year old is slashing .269/.340/.436 with eight homers in 87 games played. He's avoided soft contact with just a 10.1 percent soft-contact rate while only striking out 20 percent of the time. He won't carry a fantasy team, but Lowrie is a solid contributor at the 2B or middle infield positions. He's a start-worthy player with two more good matchups with Cleveland this weekend.
