Jed Lowrie Goes Deep, Provides All of A's Offense
7 years agoThe Oakland Athletics avoided being swept by the Seattle Mariners with a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon, and all of the A's runs came from the bat of second baseman Jed Lowrie on one swing of the bat. In the top of the first inning, Lowrie stepped to the plate with a runner on base and promptly planted one over the fence on a 366-foot home run. He would go on to add an infield single in the eighth inning as well. Lowrie has raced out to a terrific start to the season, as he now has a slash line of .348/.403/.576 with four home runs and 14 RBI. He has three multi-hit efforts in his last four games. Lowrie should be started in all formats, as long as he is still rolling like this, and is a mid-tier 2B for the rest of the season in deeper formats.
