Jed Lowrie Inks Contract With A's
4 years agoThe Oakland Athletics and infielder Jed Lowrie agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. If Lowrie makes the team, it will be his third stint with Oakland after playing with the A's from 2013-14 and 2016-18. Lowrie has thrived at different times with the A's including setting the franchise-record with 49 doubles in 2017. The next season, Lowrie was a useful second baseman in fantasy clubbing 23 homers and driving in 99 runs. Nagging knee issues, however, limited Lowrie to just nine games over the last two seasons with the Mets. The 36-year-old Lowrie joins Vimael Machin, Chad Pinder, and Tony Kemp competing for the vacant job at the keystone. None would be overly attractive fantasy options in anything other than an AL-only league.
