3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman (shoulder) will make another rehab start at Low-A Dayton on Friday, according to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Hoffman has been out since the end of May with a right shoulder impingement, and over four rehab appearances at Triple-A, he's posted a 1.76 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings of work. Prior to the injury, Hoffman was 3-4 with a 4.61 ERA and 20.7 percent strikeout rate over 10 starts this season. All that being said, it's possible that there might not be a spot in the rotation for Hoffman upon his return, as the Reds have seen nice performances this season out of rookies Vladimir Gutierrez and Tony Santillan. If he does return to the rotation when healthy, fantasy managers should consider him a streaming option when he has a favorable matchup.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
