4 years agoAfter a season-long home run drought, New York Mets third baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil is finally showing signs of life in the power department. On Monday, McNeil went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the Mets' 9-8 loss to the Phillies. It was McNeil's second home run in as many days. McNeil is now hitting .298/.367/.438 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 121 at-bats. Until recently, McNeil had been unable to replicate his 2019 breakout in which he hit .318 with 23 home runs and 75 RBI. With McNeil beginning to finally pay dividends in the home run and RBI categories, managers should continue to roll with him. The Mets will certainly keep McNeil in the lineup while he is consistently hitting for power to go with his usual high contact and high average skill set.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
