4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil has been unable in the early part of the 2020 season to replicate his stellar hitting output from last year. Having avoided catastrophe last week during an outfield incident, McNeil appears healthy at this stage, but he has gone just 1-for-14 in his last five games. Further complicating McNeil’s ownership is the fact that with two positive COVID-19 tests within the Mets’ organization, when he returns to the field is unknown. Looking ahead, McNeil has produced a .304 xBA in his first 20 contests, an indication that he may be running into some early season bad luck that could be swinging back into his favor upon resumption of his year.--Jesse Borek
