4 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil went 0-for-3 in Grapefruit League action on Thursday against the Astros, dropping his batting average to .071 this spring. McNeil is now just 1-for-14 with three strikeouts, with his lone spring hit a solo home run. McNeil is coming off a solid 2020 campaign in which he posted a .311/.383/.454 slash line over 183 at-bats, though he did see a decline in power production, hitting only four HR in the short season. Despite these early spring struggles, McNeil will again be a stable source of elite hitting with solid RBI and run production at the top of a very potent Mets lineup in 2021. While HR expectations should be tempered, McNeil should be a safe bet for a .310 batting average, a .380 OBP, 10-15 HR, and 70-80 RBI in 2021.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
