Jeff McNeil Will Remain Out On Tuesday
4 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil (back) will be out of Tuesday’s lineup versus the Nationals. McNeil underwent a MRI on Tuesday and was a last minute scratch from Monday’s lineup after coming with back tightness before the opening pitch. McNeil has quietly been one of the more underrated players in the game and owns a .343 batting average this season after hitting .318 with 23 home runs and 75 in 2019. More should be known on McNeil’s absence when his test results come back. For now Ryan Cordell will bat seventh and replace McNeil in the lineup. Cordell can be avoided in a tough matchup against Patrick Corbin.
