4 years agoSan Francisco Giants right-handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right shoulder impingement. Left-hander Andrew Suarez has been recalled to take his place on the active roster and figures to be a candidate to step into the rotation. Virtually nothing has gone right for Samardzija on the mound thus far in 2020, allowing a Major League-high 15 earned runs and six homers through his first three starts. Having struck out just 7.7% of batters, the opposition is hammering Samardzija’s cutters (.942 SLG) and four-seam fastballs (1.250 SLG) out of the gate. Season-long owners can now safely drop anchor on the veteran as he hits the IL.--Jesse Borek
