3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. carried 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 12 yards during a 20-17 Week 16 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Wilson converted a goal-line carry to open up the scoring during Thursday's primetime game, preserving an RB2 finish. Averaging 3.2 YPC certainly was not ideal, as the Titans front-seven forced Jimmy Garoppolo to attempt 35 passes. Wilson should be in a smash spot against the Houston Texans defense, which has allowed the fourth-highest PPR points to opposing running backs this season. However, Wilson cedes touches to Deebo Samuel, and the impending return of rookie Elijah Mitchell could wind up forcing Wilson into a back-seat role, devaluing him against the Texans. Make sure to pay attention to practice reports leading up to their Week 17 home game.--Matt MacKay - RotoBaller
