2 years agoIf the season began on Tuesday, it would be San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. as the No. 2 behind Elijah Mitchell, even though Wilson missed seven starts due to various injuries in 2021. The 26-year-old looked significantly better in the spring than he did late last season when he was still dealing with the effects of an offseason knee injury. But Wilson will have to hold off Trey Sermon and third-round rookie Tyrion Davis-Price in training camp. San Fran took Davis-Price in this year's draft as running back insurance given all the injuries to the position in recent years. Wilson has a well-round skill set, but he'll be nothing more than a handcuff for Mitchell in deeper leagues in the 49ers' crowded backfield.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
