4 years agoThe Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold reported in a tweet Monday that Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario "could be available off the bench tonight." Candelario was placed on the bereavement list on June 8. The team announced via their public relations Twitter account on June 12 that they had reinstated him from the bereavement list and placed him on the injured list as he went through COVID-19 intake testing protocols. The third baseman has reached base at a reasonable rate with a 9.1% walk rate and a .336 on-base percentage this season. Once activated, Candelario figures to return to being a fixture near the top of the Tigers lineup, as he's spent most of the season either hitting second or third for Detroit. The third baseman doesn't hit in the most prolific lineup in the world and hasn't been a significant power threat so far, but he should have some RBI opportunities hitting behind Robbie Grossman and Jonathan Schoop.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
