Jeimer Candelario Snaps Seven-Game Hitting Streak
3 years agoDetroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario snapped his seven-game hitting streak on Sunday, finishing 0-for-4 with a strikeout in a 6-1 loss to the Royals. Despite going hitless, Candelario has still been putting up good numbers throughout July, slashing .286/.398/.529 with three home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored over 20 games this month. That now has him hitting .266 with a .752 OPS on the year, with seven home runs, 31 RBI and 41 runs scored over 91 games. With the way he's heating up recently, managers in deeper formats will want to look to grab him up off the waiver wire, as he could put up good numbers in the second half.
