6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jerad Eickhoff completed his second scoreless start of the season on Friday in a 4-0 win over the Marlins. In just his third start of the season, the 28-year-old made short work of Miami’s weak lineup, striking out six and allowing two hits and a walk across all seven innings. Eickhoff’s curveball was particularly impressive, a pitch he threw 15 times before the Marlins finally made contact on a weak pop fly. After an injury-plagued 2018 season that was cut short due to a lat strain and numbness in his pitching hand, Eickhoff’s start to the year remains encouraging. Currently owned in less than 20 percent of leagues, he figures to be one of the hottest names available on the waiver wire following Friday’s outing.--Ryan Cook
