Jerar Encarnacion Promoted To Triple-A
3 years agoMiami Marlins outfield prospect Jerar Encarnacion has officially been promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville. The team's No. 22 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, dealt with injuries last season, but he was sporting a 1.009 OPS at Double-A Pensacola this year, along with a .358/.426/.583 slash line with eight home runs and four stolen bases in 136 plate appearances. The 24-year-old fits the mold of a right fielder with a strong arm and 30-home run upside at the next level. Encarnacion has 43 career home runs in six minor league seasons, but a long swing and suspect pitch recognition probably won't allow him to hit for a very high average once he makes it to the Marlins.
