Jeremy Jeffress Retires Five Batters For First Save Of Season
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress went 1 2/3 innings pitched with one strikeout and a save in the 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Jeffress continues to pitch with excellence this year, and it looks like the Brewers are starting to trust him in bigger situations. In the eighth with Billy Hamilton at third and Jesse Winker on first with one out, Jeffress recorded two straight outs to get the Brewers out of the inning and then finished the ninth for the save. He's now at an extremely impressive 0.57 ERA with a 0.70 WHIP this year in 16 2/3 innings pitched. If you are in a holds league, he should be a must-own with how he has been pitching lately.
