Jeremy Sprinkle Falls Flat In Starting Role
5 years agoWashington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle caught two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's loss. Like a handful of his teammates, his futility in Week 5 can't be entirely attributed to anything he did wrong. The Redskins are just a poor offensive team, and Colt McCoy was never going to give them a chance to win this game. Unfortunately for Sprinkle, his role in the offense hinges on the health of the guys in front of him on the depth chart. If one or both of Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed return in Week 6, it will be some time before Sprinkle gets another shot as the featured tight end.
