Jeremy Sprinkle In Line For Starting TE Work
5 years agoWashington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle will have his second chance to produce in a starting role with Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis set to miss Week 6. He didn't make much of his first such opportunity last week, though it's worth noting his opponent in that contest was the Patriots. Sprinkle's next opponent is a Dolphins team that presents a more favorable matchup. Miami has allowed 23 receptions on an 82% catch rate to tight ends, giving up an average of 78.5 yards per game to the position. No tight end in the Redskins offense has emerged as a legitimate pass-catching threat, so it's tough to believe Sprinkle will be given the chance to exploit the matchup. He's an option only for the truly desperate at tight end.
