4 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder/designated hitter Jesse Winker has been handed down a one-game suspension stemming from a benches-clearing incident with the Cubs on Saturday. It has not been made immediately clear whether Winker will appeal said suspension with the Reds not yet having released their lineup for Monday close to first pitch. Entering Monday, Winker’s 1.122 OPS is the second-highest mark in the Majors, with his breakout having put him on the radar of every season-long league. He seems to have a firm grasp on the No. 3 spot in the Cincinnati batting order moving forward, but a one-game absence is likely to come at some stage.--Jesse Borek
