Jesse Winker Takes Reps At First Base
3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jesse Winker wore a first baseman's glove and fielded grounders from infield coach Perry Hill on Sunday, according to Ryan Divish. Acquired from the Reds earlier this month, Winker has never played the infield before, let alone first base. However, it appears the Mariners are exploring their options at the position now that Evan White has been diagnosed with a sports hernia. Through 110 games with Cincinnati last year, Winker slashed .305/.394/.556, hit 24 homers, and made the NL All-Star team. He currently checks in at No. 42 in RotoBaller's updated fantasy baseball outfield rankings.
