Jesus Aguilar Drops Two RBI In First Start Since Eric Thames Injury
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and two RBI in the 6-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. Aguilar has officially been named the replacement for Eric Thames, who recently was placed on the disabled list for a UCL tear in his thumb, and in Aguilar's first start, he looked quite good. He hit an RBI single and also launched a sac fly for two RBI on the night. Aguilar will most likely get a large majority of the starts at first base, while Ryan Braun will fill in every once in a while to give Domingo Santana some time in the outfield. If Aguilar continues to hit anywhere near his current .421 batting average and 1.070 OPS, he could be looking at possibly a timeshare or platoon with Thames when he's back. He will be an intriguing add for those needing a first baseman, or for those who placed Thames on the DL.
