4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo (hand) could return to the team by the end of the month, according to Shayna Rubin of the Mercury News. Luzardo was placed on the injured list on Sunday after he fractured his pinky finger by hitting it on a desk while playing video games. Rubin reports that Luzardo is being considered week-to-week at the moment, and he recently played catch at 60 feet. He will undergo another X-ray at the end of the week, and if the results come back positive he could begin throwing off the mound afterwards. Through six starts this season, Luzardo is 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA and 23.6 percent strikeout rate in 28 innings of work.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
