4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo (finger) threw a bullpen session on Thursday and is feeling good, per manager Bob Melvin. Luzardo reportedly threw 30 pitches during the session. Melvin said that the team isn't yet sure how many sessions Luzardo will need before embarking on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas but that it will be at least one more. The 23-year-old southpaw landed on the injured list with a fractured left pinky finger, though he seems on track to return by the end of May or the beginning of June, barring any setbacks. Luzardo had pitched to a 5.79 ERA in six starts, though he did post a solid 30:12 strikeout-to-walk ratio.--Tim Capurso
