Jesus Luzardo Fires Six Shutout Innings Versus Giants

4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo dominated the Giants on Saturday firing six shutout innings at his Bay Area rivals. The rookie left hander struck out seven while allowing five hits and no walks in the dominant effort. Luzardo induced a whopping 15 swinging strikes on just 90 pitches as he lowered his season-ERA to 3.86. Luzardo has struggled in recent starts when he faces the lineup the third time so it was good to see him retire four-of-five batters he faced thrice. As good as Luzardo has been for fantasy managers, he may not be trustworthy in the last week of the season if Oakland decides to manage his workload ahead of the postseason.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
