4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo (finger) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a hairline fracture in his left pinky finger, according to Alex Coffey of The Athletic. Manager Bob Melvin said that Luzardo had injured his hand when he "accidentally bumped his hand on the desk" while playing a video game on Saturday. Luzardo was examined by trainers prior to the game, and after warming up Luzardo and the trainers decided he was fine to pitch. He threw three innings against the Orioles, allowing six runs — three earned — and then after the game an x-ray showed the fracture on his finger.
