Jets Expect To Be Active In Free Agency
7 years agoAccording to New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, the team is set to be “very active” in free agency this offseason. It’s easy to say that now when there is $80 million in cap space currently available, plus the big cuts the team will make with players such as defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson. However, it’s a completely different story to take that salary cap space and spend it wisely. Building through free agency in the NFL is a very inefficient system that eventually yields bad situations more often than not, but that’s why the Jets are the Jets. Regardless of cap space, priority Nos. 1, 2 and 3 for the Jets need to be finding a young quarterback.
