Jets, Lions Made Offers For Deebo Samuel
3 years agoThe New York Jets and Detroit Lions both made offers for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel during the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night, but the 49ers wouldn't do it, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on Friday on the Pat McAfee Show. The Jets offered pick No. 10 overall and a pick swap. When the Niners turned down the Lions, they eventually traded back up to get Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams. San Francisco has made it clear that they don't want to trade Samuel despite his public request, and Thursday's first round hammers that home. However, Samuel is almost certainly unhappy, so it remains to be seen how this situation will play out moving forward. It's unlikely that the 49ers will trade Samuel during Round 2 on Friday night if they didn't pull the trigger in the first round.
