7 years agoThe New York Jets have officially named rookie quarterback Sam Darnold as their starter for Week 1 against the Lions, according to sources. This has been expected for a while after the Jets traded Teddy Bridgewater to the Saints. Veteran Josh McCown will serve as the backup and mentor Darnold in his rookie campaign. Darnold looked NFL-ready in the preseason and was poised in the pocket. He's an excellent dynasty pick but won't be very attractive in redraft leagues in what will be an up-and-down season most likely.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
