Jets Open To Trading Up For Quarterback
7 years agoNew York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said the team would be open to trading up in the 2018 NFL draft if they fall in love with a quarterback prospect and don't think he'll be available when they pick sixth overall. In his three years with Gang Green, Maccagnan has yet to trade up in the first round. The top quarterbacks in this year's draft include Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, USC's Sam Darnold and UCLA's Josh Rosen. The Jets are in serious need of a future at the quarterback position. While veteran journeyman Josh McCown performed admirably in 2017 and may be coming back next season, the Jets know they don't have serious long-term options in Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg, a second-round pick in 2016.
